Golden Milk Drink

This delicious and easy to make golden milk drink is caffeine free and tastes amazing. This drink not only warms the cockles of your heart but it's also extremely good for you. One of the hero ingredients is turmeric, turmeric has many health benefits; decreasing inflammation, boosting immunity, easing joint pain, helping with indigestion and protecting the heart and brain are just to name a few. I really enjoy drinking this just before bed.

Prep time: 1 minute
Cook time: 5 minutes
Serves: 1

Ingredients:

1 cup of almond or coconut milk (or any milk of your choice)

1/4 tsp ground turmeric

1/4 tsp ground ginger

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp coconut oil

1 tsp maple syrup or honey

Grind of black pepper

Small pinch of cayenne pepper (optional for an extra hit of flavour)

Instructions:

  1. Place all the ingredients into a stainless steel pot and whisk constantly over a gentle heat.

  2. Once hot remove it from the heat and pour into a mug and serve. Finish with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top (optional).

Tip: Use an electric milk frother to get a latte consistency.
